Late last year, I launched my own app, OperationBegin—a streamlined CRM designed specifically for small teams and independent creators.
The idea was born out of my own frustration with managing multiple clients, projects, and billing as a freelancer. I cycled through several tools, but none quite hit the mark. Some weren’t supported in Cambodia, while others insisted on handling payments just to take a commission.
I wanted something simple: a tool to track projects, issue estimates, and manage invoices while keeping full control over my own payments. That’s why I built OperationBegin.
For the visual identity, I prioritized a clean, minimalist aesthetic. I developed a simple symbol paired with a distinct blue. The logo is a clever visual play on the name: if you divide the letter “O” slightly to the right, it reveals a “B.” This geometric logic makes the mark both functional and memorable without being over-designed.

The website is a focused, one-page landing site that introduces the core features. I kept the layout light and airy, putting the emphasis on the “opinionated workflow”—showing users exactly how the tool simplifies their day-to-day tasks.

Juggling a major personal project while working full-time is a constant balancing act. However, I’m deeply committed to making OperationBegin the best tool for freelancers because I’m its primary user.
Once I got the momentum going, the project began to “snowball”—I find myself constantly (and carefully) implementing new features. While this is just the beginning, launching this brand and site marks a major milestone in my career. I’ll be sharing more about the app’s specific features soon.
